Some friends of ours had been looking for a older home to fix up for a long time. they wanted a home that was very old that they could work to return to it’s original look. We had told them when they found the perfect home for this project we would work on it with them. We all thought that it would be a detail oriented project but no one knew what all would be involved. They found the perfect home and it was beautiful even it it’s rough state. You could tell the bones of the home was truly unique and beautiful but you had to have an imagination. A good imagination! The first thing we did was to clean it up. Then we had to think about how we would do a paint removal that would not effect the material that was under all of that paint. There had been many coats of paint through this homes lifetime and none of them had been removed only covered. That left us with a huge paint removal project in front of us. That mean paint remover work had to be our top priority. The right paint remover would keep the integrity of the home in tact and give us a blank slate we could work with to return the paint to the style of paint that would have been in the home in it’s original state. As the paint began to be removed layer by layer we were able to see how any shades the home had been throughout it’s life. We finally came to original color. The local paint company was bale to match it exactly. The home is now finished and to this day we like to just look at it and see the details. It is after all a culmination of details that makes any space special. This house has so much personality and character to it that every time we look at something in it we feel like we are noticing it for the first time. That is what made this project so much fun for everyone involved.

The world is filled with people. Some of us are fortunate and are living healthy lives and others are dealing with some difficult conditions. It is difficult for people that are not feeling their personal best. We want to do all that we can for them to help them feel better. Everyone should be able to have a good quality of life so they can enjoy their time here on earth. The desire for a healthy lifestyle has lead the discovery to many things we have today in medicines. The time of year is here when we think of gifts for the people in our lives that are extra special. For me I have to think about my family and my mom during the Valentine’s Day celebration. We like to get together and enjoy a good meal and then the pressure is on for me to gift them with something fun. they all love chocolate so that part of the gift is a sure thing. The trick is to think of what will let them know I spent time choosing it. I like to do something a little different each year. This year I found there is a site that has custom chocolate. It is really hard to go wrong when you are gifting chocolates around my house. I think everyone loves chocolate. In our office everyone of the women get chocolates and flowers all day long. There are things happening every day that we are unaware of. For instance, in our court systems there are legal proceedings going on every day. If you are in a lawsuit it can be a frustrating time. If you are due a settlement it can take a long time to get the money you have coming to you. It is amazing to me how some extremely intelligent people can do some really crazy things and do them over and over again. Case and point would be my sister and her ongoing adventure with her keys. If there is one thing my sister can not do it is keep up with her car keys. She always has her house keys when she needs them but her car keys are always locked in her car. She carried two sets and locked them both in the car. Of course it took her longer. She is constantly locking them in her car. For a long time we had keys to her car so the one that was closet to her could come and open her car. Then she moved and has had to employ the services of places such as the locksmith austin and the locksmith boston. No matter where she goes she meets the local locksmiths. It is funny to think as many times as she locks her keys in her car that she would not remember but she does not. One night she had left work and called me to catch up. We talked for a while then I realized she was not at home but waiting on a locksmith philadelphia to open her car. She said she thought she would take advantage of the wait and use her phone. Of course these locksmiths do other things then let my sister get back in her car but I am certainly glad that they are there when she needs them. When some friends of ours bought a building and had all of the locks changed the locksmiths were there for that service. When we bought our home and traded out the locks for new ones they were there for that service as well. Letting my sister into her car is only a part time event for all of them.

Oh my gosh the other night I was just getting settled in to start watching all the wonderful things that I knew I had lined up on my DVR. I got my dinner ready and my glass of wine and got all wrapped up in my favorite throw and much to my dismay my DVR wasn’t working. Not working at all I tell you. I pulled up what should have been a glorious list of all of my favorite shows to watch and alas there were no shows. I almost cried in my soup. It turns out that all my shows were still stored on the box but they just weren’t showing up for some strange reason. Yay! Rejoice I can now watch back to back episodes of Whitney until my abs hurt from laughing! What? That isn’t how you workout your abs?

Our bodies are amazing tools. We are able to call upon them to do whatever we need from them as long as we are able to keep them functioning in the way they were designed. AS amazing as our bodies are they are subject to a variety of conditions and illnesses that leave us at the mercy of what ever we need to do to help them. One of those conditions is diabetes. Not that long ago we found ourselves in a place that we never thought we would be. When we moved to our new home we were all excited. We moved from the city to the country and have loved everything about our move. The kids in our neighborhood have been so welcoming to our children which has made it a smooth fit quickly. Our son’s friends were all involved in rifle shooting for target practice. It is a big competition event in our area and his friends are very good at it. We would go and give our support to them at the many events and my son was happy with that much involvement. Everyone just stood there with their mouths open, even my son! Feeling as though it was a lucky shot he took another and then another and he never missed. Everyone got so excited trying to find targets of things he could practice with even though he had never even touched a gun before. that was many events ago and now people come to the event to see what he can do. We had no idea that our son had this natural talent but it is exciting to watch as he develops his new hobby into something exciting for us and everyone else to enjoy right along with him.

Unless you operate in side the world of handicap people it is difficult to imagine how complex their world truly is. Once my mother had a stroke we became familiar with this world very quickly. We were put into learning about things and operating different things that we had never known existed. The experience made us so much more appreciative to what all is involved in a handicap life style.
